Description

Discover a serene camping spot along a primitive two-track on BLM land in rural New Mexico. Located just a quarter mile from the paved road, this spacious flat area on a hillside offers panoramic views of the rolling hills to the southwest. Accessible by nearly any vehicle through a public gate, four-wheel drive is only necessary in snowy conditions.

This campsite, devoid of vegetation but surrounded by grassy pastures with small rocks and cow patties, provides no shade but promises acceptable cell service and an unobstructed view of the sky for satellite connectivity. Two occasionally used stone fire rings are available, with enough room for two or three vehicles.

While opportunities for adventure are limited due to nearby private land parcels, this campsite serves as an ideal rest stop for travelers heading east or west through rural New Mexico. The area is safe and low-traffic, ensuring a quiet night's stay. Capture breathtaking sunsets and indulge in stargazing with minimal light pollution. Plan your overnight stay for a tranquil experience in this remote and scenic location.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
