Camping on the Turbulent Coast of Bonavista

You must be a member or a Patreon subscriber to see location.

Discover a spacious community pasture on the stunning coast of Bonavista, Newfoundland, accessed via a gentle dirt road. This primitive campsite offers no fire rings or amenities, so campers should be self-sufficient, contain waste, and minimize their environmental impact. The rocky coast is shared with some horses and cattle, adding to the rustic charm.

Despite its remote feel, the site boasts excellent cell service and has enough room for several vehicles. The open sky provides great satellite connectivity. Located just a short drive from the lighthouse and Bonavista downtown, it combines convenience with natural beauty.

With amazing coastal views, this site can be windy and lacks trees, making it very exposed but incredibly beautiful. Privacy is limited due to the open area and regular tourist traffic. Perfect for those seeking an authentic coastal experience, this campsite is strongly recommended.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
