Description

Nestled in the Fish Lake National Forest, just outside Capitol Reef National Park, lies a secluded valley that offers an unparalleled outdoor experience. The breathtaking landscape boasts of junipers, mountains, cliffs, and buttes, which make it an ideal destination for any nature lover. The campsite is located at the foot of a towering cliff to the west, which provides decent protection from the elements. The junipers and cliff face further enhance the overall camping experience.

The primitive campsite has a fire ring and is situated dozens of miles from pavement, making it a perfect location for a peaceful retreat. Access to the campsite is possible via four-wheel drive with good ground clearance if accessed via Capitol Reef. However, it is essential to note that the route from the forest road to the west is milder terrain, but very far. The campsite has enough room for a few vehicles, but it is located on a slight grade, which may require vehicles to be leveled.

While the campsite is devoid of cell service, the view of the sky offers ample opportunities for satellite connectivity. The remote location of the campsite makes it an ideal destination for outdoor adventure enthusiasts. With the dramatic landscape and the abundance of outdoor activities, this campsite is highly recommended for anyone seeking an unforgettable outdoor experience.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
