Flat Cement Slab Deep in the Sonoran Desert

You must be a member or a Patreon subscriber to see location.

Discover a dispersed hilltop campsite near the ruins of an old mine, offering panoramic views of the surrounding Sonoran Desert. Set atop a cement slab, it feels like camping on a patio, with lush desert vegetation adding to the scenic charm.

While the site boasts excellent cell service, accessing it requires a four-wheel drive vehicle, although a 4x4 van can manage the journey. Enjoy solitude and privacy in this unique location, but be cautious of rusty nails and debris leftover from its mining past, as well as local wildlife.

Please note that a free permit is required to access the former Barry Goldwater bombing range area, which can be obtained online using your phone if you have cell service upon arrival. Explore this distinctive and beautiful campsite, a favorite among visitors to the area.
