High Elevation Mountain Basin in the Rockies

Description

Enjoy a somewhat flat campsite adjacent to a secluded alpine lake, reached through a high elevation journey up a degraded forest road. This idyllic location demands a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle for access. It offers an uneven yet captivating camping surface featuring a primitive stone fire ring.

Marvel at the exquisite scenery within a basin, surrounded by towering mountains and overlooking the emerald-colored lake. While some cell service is available at the basin's edge, the expansive view of the sky ensures excellent satellite connectivity.

Accommodating two or three vehicles with some leveling required, this site is a perfect spot for those seeking a high elevation camping experience. Be prepared for wind, colder temperatures, and possible year-round snow. Despite heavy recreational 4x4 and off-highway vehicle (OHV) activity during the day, the area lacks privacy and vegetation.

Highly recommended for enthusiasts looking to immerse themselves in stunning scenery and embrace the challenges of high elevation camping. Explore the beauty and adventure awaiting you in this alpine lakeside retreat.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
