Description

Located in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, this primitive campsite offers an unforgettable wilderness experience. Accessible by a primitive forest road, the site can accommodate a few vehicles, but larger vehicles may encounter some scratches. However, the drive is well worth it, as the campsite offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. With no tree cover, the campsite provides an unobstructed view of the sky, making it a perfect spot to utilize Starlink. Otherwise, there is no cell service.

The campsite is situated next to a beautiful mountain stream and is in close proximity to hiking trails, including the Continental Divide Trail and high peak access. Although the area is very remote, the campsite is popular among hikers, so privacy may be limited. However, the breathtaking scenery and prime location more than make up for any lack of privacy. There are interesting ruins of an old mining homestead nearby.

Overall, this backcountry destination is highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic wilderness experience in the heart of the Colorado Rockies. With its stunning views and easy access to hiking trails, this primitive campsite is a must-visit for any outdoor enthusiast.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
