Description

Nestled in the heart of Kaibab National Forest lies a hidden gem - a secluded campsite in a picturesque meadow surrounded by aspens and pine trees. The grassy valley is only a few miles away from the North Rim vista of the Grand Canyon, making it the perfect location for those who want to experience the beauty of the canyon without the crowds.

This campsite is ideal for anyone seeking privacy and tranquility. The low traffic in the area ensures that you can enjoy the peace and quiet of nature undisturbed. The edge of the woods features a clearing and a fire ring, which is the perfect spot for a cozy campfire on chilly evenings. However, be warned - some say that the clearing is inhabited by a witch.

It’s a great alternative campsite if there is too much wind (or too many people), at the more popular campsites up on the rim. For overland enthusiasts, there are many primitive roads in the surrounding area, providing ample opportunities for exploration, suitable for four-wheel drive vehicles of any size. The site can accommodate multiple overland rigs, making it a great spot for group camping trips.

While the lack of cell service may be a concern for some, it is worth noting that Starlink may have a sufficient view of the sky in the area. Overall, this campsite is a hidden gem that comes highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful and secluded camping experience in the beautiful Kaibab National Forest.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
