Description

Discover a captivating primitive campsite nestled in a beautiful desert canyon, featuring a stone fire ring and surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of saguaro cacti, mountains, and canyons within the remote and serene Tonto National Forest. Accessible only via four-wheel drive, this site promises a unique camping experience with limited cell service offset by an expansive view of the sky, perfect for satellite connectivity.

Accommodating two or three vehicles, the site's only drawback is its slightly graded terrain. However, it compensates by transforming into a lush green haven during the spring, offering a vibrant and refreshing ambiance. Tailored for backcountry enthusiasts, the area invites exploration with an extensive network of backcountry roads, occasionally frequented by off-highway vehicles (OHVs).

Embark on an adventure at this desert canyon campsite, highly recommended for those seeking a secluded and picturesque retreat within the Tonto National Forest. Immerse yourself in the natural surroundings, surrounded by cacti, mountains, and canyons for an unparalleled outdoor experience.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
