On a Sunny Ridge in Coronado National Forest

Description

Discover a scenic campsite nestled within the vast grasslands of Coronado National Forest, offering panoramic views of rolling hills and grassy canyons in every direction. Situated atop a ridge at the end of a short forest road spur, the site overlooks a picturesque valley to the north.

Unwind around the primitive stone fire ring, with a solitary tree providing minimal shade and wind shelter amidst the exposed grassland landscape. While the area lacks significant vegetation for privacy, it boasts excellent cell service and unobstructed views of the sky for satellite connectivity.

Enjoy sweeping vistas of distant mountains and expansive grasslands, with ample space for several vehicles at camp. While the road is accessible to all vehicles, the ground may require leveling closer to the ridge's edge. Suitable for tent camping, the presence of cow patties suggests the proximity of cattle, making it an ideal spot for larger groups and vehicles of any size.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
