Perched Over a Painted Valley Near Escalante

Nice! A stunning designated dispersed campsite perched on the edge of a cliff near Escalante, Utah. The site offers an excellent view of an otherworldly landscape of red rock and sandstone to the east. Equipped with a primitive stone fire ring, it's perfect for adventure seekers.

Plenty of hiking opportunities and four-wheel drive touring nearby. Located just a short quarter-mile drive from pavement, but requires four-wheel drive due to a sandy primitive track. During the dry season, the sand may be very soft, making it easy to get stuck.

Good cell service via AT&T and enough room for two or three vehicles. Junipers provide some shelter from the elements. Expect other boondockers, especially during peak season, and regular patrols by rangers. An ideal place to spend a few days exploring the area.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
