Description

Ironwood Forest National Monument is a great place to experience the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. If you're looking for a secluded and peaceful spot to camp, look no further than this dispersed site. Surrounded by towering saguaro cacti and with stunning views of the desert mountains to the south, this site offers a serene and picturesque backdrop.

Despite its remote location, the site is accessible by a gentle primitive track that can accommodate a single overland vehicle or van. The stone fire ring is a great feature for those who love to cook over an open flame, and satellite connectivity is available thanks to the clear views of the sky.

One of the best things about this site is the privacy it offers. Since it's farther into the backcountry than many of the other sites in the area, you'll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the desert without any disturbances. There are also plenty of hiking opportunities in the surrounding area, so don't forget to pack your hiking boots!

While you'll be far away from the hustle and bustle of civilization, the site is still conveniently located just a 20 minute drive away from town. This makes it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the Sonoran Desert, while still having easy access to amenities when needed.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
