Description

Explore a designated dispersed campsite in a popular boondocking area atop a desert plateau, offering stunning views near La Verkin, Utah. Conveniently located a short drive from Springdale and Zion National Park, this site experiences a fairly busy year-round traffic owing to its mild climate. With dozens of designated spaces featuring fire rings amidst the sagebrush, it's a popular choice for those seeking a free camping spot.

Enjoy good cell service and sufficient room for one or two vehicles per site, surrounded by decent scenery with distant mountains to the east and west. The site provides a great view of the sky, ideal for satellite connectivity. However, be aware that there's no shelter or protection from the elements, making it hot in the summer.

Ideal for those passing through the area in need of a free place to spend the night, the sites are mostly clean and well-kept, though highly sought after and likely to be occupied. Spaced 100 yards apart, expect neighbors in eyeshot and passing traffic. Accessible via a primitive track just off a groomed dirt road, the gentle terrain makes it suitable for any vehicle, but avoid if conditions are muddy.

Always tread lightly, leave no trace, respect the wishes of landowners, and leave campsites cleaner than you found them. Be the very best steward of our public spaces that you can possibly be so that they remain public.
