Situated at the southern base of Rug Road on State Trust Land, this elevated dispersed campsite offers panoramic views of desert mountains and valleys to the east and west. A cost-effective annual use permit for Arizona State Trust Land is required, easily obtainable online for your convenience. The site features minimal vegetation, primarily desert grass and scrub, potentially exposing it to inclement conditions.

Accessed by any stock four-wheel-drive vehicle, the site provides a quiet and secluded retreat with moderate privacy. The landscape includes a small stone fire ring and clear pads suitable for ground tents. While some ATV and mining activity may occur in the vicinity, the site offers a peaceful escape. Enjoy an unobstructed view of the sky, perfect for satellite connectivity, and acceptable cell service for staying connected.

With ample space for one or two vehicles, this campsite serves as an excellent overnight stop for overland vehicles or four-wheel-drive vans. We’ve been here in-person, but it might have been a while. To our knowledge, this spot is currently open and accessible, but that can easily change, so always have a back-up plan!
